Champions League - Matchday Three

on first viewing that’s a spotter …

Started really well tonight and then dropped off and let them dominate possession. Some odd defensive decisions, particularly from Sammy who is mostly standing still and Izzy who is taking the wrong option by coming inside a lot. But they haven’t created a lot outside of a couple of crosses from errors.

Stokes won the penalty well. Completely sells the defender who was very naive. Great pen from Forrest.

WTF is Ian Wright wearing?

That would have been a class fucking goal from Cazorla

Arsenal very much on top now.

Well that was against the run of play.

Caught rotten on the break

Take that de boer you dutch, drug taking, Hun, cunt

One’s named Ronald,
One’s named Frank…

Magnificent stuff from Lenny’s Lions.

Slightly disappointing to let in that goal at the end but it’s a good kind of disappointment.

Win the next two matches and it’s last 16 time again.

Fraser Forster was absolutely superb again. The 4th choice England keeper must be in the top 5 keepers in the world.

I was well ahead of the curve in rating Fraser Forster as a top keeper.

Magnificent. Where’s @Rudi?

Delighted for Kayal to get the second. We put them under good pressure all night and they had a couple of chances but never looked comfortable.

Thought all the back 4 did well. Lustig was really good, two centre backs had a mistake each but more than compensated with good anticipation throughout. Izzy really improved in the second half, lots of interceptions. Forster was magnificent behind them.

Forrest took his penalty really well and caused them problems throughout. Kayal was really good, surprised he came off so early. Mulgrew isn’t ideal in central midfield but played well. Ridiculous red card for Biton when he came on. Sammy has done better but he was influential in both goals and is easily the best player in the world.

Pukki did well overall. Couple of poor decisions but he’s tidy in possession and links the play well. Stokes won his penalty expertly and is the second best player in the world.

Delighted with the result. I love my country. Free Palestine.

Only saw the second half but Virgil was excellent in it.

Had to go to dinner tonight so didn’t see the game. Caught the final views of the panel on Setanta, they seemed to reckon we deserved to win but were quite lucky in the the manner of the goals and that Ajax were extremely wasteful in the chances they created.

They also seemed to be saying that we were very open tonight which is quite unusual given that we have been quite compact and rigid in our opening two CL matches. Good result for Celtic anyway.

How did Stokes, Kayal and Pukki play?

there is something inherently right about watching Milan play European football in the San Siro, Barcelona will never have this despite all they win
i will continue to update all the scores here for posters who arent aware of the goals going in.[/quote]

The stadium is the most atmospheric in football. Just saw the goals there on Setanta and it was nice to see Kaka playing a key role in the opener. Absolutely embarrassing defending from Zapata and Constant for the equaliser.

Outstanding by Celtic supporter Kevin Grosskreutz for the Dortmund winner.

Kayal’s Israeli pal, he choose not to play for Palestine
