Champions League Qualifiers *now incorporating Braga v Celtic thread*

I had a good feeling about last week. Thankfully I have nowhere near the same level of optimism this week - funny how 3-0 defeats can do that to you. I do expect an improved performance though and I hope we see something that at least suggests Lennon knows how to get the team playing good attacking football and to make the best use of the players we have.

Hooper to start according to Radio Scotland.

Thatā€™s good. This guy is the future for this season anyway. Iā€™m liking what Iā€™ve seen from Samaras at the moment but he needs a partner and FortunĆ© isnā€™t it. Rasmussen is out of favour and neither Bellamy nor Keane are ready yet. So Hooper needs to get game time and a chance to see what he can do.

I thought Rasmussen was quite impressive against Arsenal, especially his neat lay offs to the likes of Juarez breaking at pace. Itā€™s being said on a lot of reliable enough Celtic portals that heā€™s available for transfer, which I think is a bit hasty.

Was about to post that too - he did link up very well against Arsenal and looked good around the pitch in a manner he hasnā€™t really shown yet (on very limited opportunities). Seems Lennon just doesnā€™t really rate him, Iā€™d like to see him get a chance still.

One change - Hooper in for Ki:

TEAM:
Zaluska,
Cha, Loovens, Hooiveld, Mulgrew,
Maloney, Juarez, Brown, Ledley,
Samaras, Hooper.

Loovens and Brown.

The midfield could line up a couple of different ways; Maloney could play in front of a tight 3 with the full backs providing width or Juarez could play wide right with Maloney on the left and Ledley in the middle in a standard 4.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish Glasgow Celtic and the Diaspora the best of luck tonight

Fuckā€™s sake. What is it that managers see in that pair that nobody else does. I really thought Lennon was going to make brave calls and pick the team on the merits of who is playing well for him, not based on who Mowbray and Strachan rated.

Anyway at least we have two up front. Iā€™d exect it will be a midfield 4 - I canā€™t see Brown holding it together in a 3 at all.

Quite disappointed in the selection myself.

Subs: Cervi, FortunƩ, Ki, Rasmussen, McCourt, Rogne, Murphy.

Loads of attacking options on the bench. No Forrest though, which is disappointing as he was very good against Lyon.

It could be a 4-3-3 either with Maloney and Samaras wide of Hooper. Iā€™d really like to see Ledley play centrally after his performance on Saturday.

Any link to the game ??

not great quality so far.

That link has settled down for me now and working ok. Not sure how long it will last though.

Also heard mention of:

but nothing on them yet.

working well for me Rocko

Yeah itā€™s grand for me now. The same site had a link last week that ended after about half an hour for no reason though.

Looks like 4-4-2 with Maloney wide left and Juarez right?

Fuck, that was a chance for Sammy.

Good start from Celtic.

Mulgrew as comfortable as ever.

FUCKIN USELESS.

Ah fuck that. Awful stuff.

Walked past Mulgrew. Good cross in fairness but they had one man there. No fault on Hooiveld who came over when Mulgrew was in trouble but what the fuck was Loovens at? And Cha. Miserable defending from a nothing situation.
