Fucking hell that was some chance. Christ almighty.
Fuckās sake Bendtner. Great chance.
thats there chance gone now, wont get a better chance than that
Aluminia has done really well allright.
Christ the Catalans in the crowd are horrible cunts, im definitly a Real Madrid fan after this
it was a harch sending off, there is no doubting that. but arsenal were absolute rubbish. fooking useless. they have no one to blame but themselves. how many shots on goal tonight? 0. none. no shots. but the ref screwed them. yeah.
Arsenal only have themselves to blame for being out of the Champions League in the last 16. Blew an easy group stage.
Next up is a humiliating exit from the FA Cup on Saturday.
ātheyāre very clever, those Bast, celona playersā , Martin keown  whilst commenting on the Barca players gettng at RVP
The sending off put paid to their chances of getting anything to be fair. They didnt have a realistic chance when it was 11 vs 10 yet nearly went through.
Robin Van Persie is an alright sort.
Itās scary to think how close Barcelona came to going out in a match where the scoreline should have been about 7 or 8-0. The more we kept missing chances when it was 3-1, the more I had visions of Arsenal doing an Anfield '89. That tackle was the single most valuable thing Mascherano has done since he signed. Bring on Manchester United hopefully and the mother of all demolition jobs.
I do think van Persie was terribly harshly treated with the sending off but it wouldnāt have made any difference in terms of conceding the goals and in fact Barcelona became a bit complacent as regards defence when he went off. Some people texting in TV3 saying that the sending off changed the game. Probably EPL Lawrenson
two unimpressive teams
barca are extremly flakey- arsenal could easily have won that when they were shit over 2 legs
Touches of the ball in the opposition penalty area:
Barcelona 47
Arsenal 2
Agreed
Heās 100% right about the ref. If Arsenal could just have held out till HT I think theyād have progressed tonight, there were indications of frustration seeping into Barcaās play. Messi is the best Iāve ever seen, right up there with Lewis McGugan
Canāt see why the sending off was harsh. Itās a clearly defined yellow card. He clearly heard the whistle. Not that heād admit that now.
Common sense has to prevail in a situation like that. Did he play it around the keeper and have a shot a few seconds later?
The man interviewing him afterwards said there was 1 second between the whistle being blown and him taking his shot.
The referee would have to be 100% certain he heard the whistle and kicked the ball away in dissent to give him a 2nd yellow card.
I think it was a harsh yellow card.
Common sense ? Itās a yellow card offence. Why not apply the appropriate penalty. Itās not the referees job to make a game of it
Arguing it was a deserved yellow card is the ultimate in internet arguing for the sake of it. Arguing that it made any difference to the result is almost as bad though.
Disagree Gola. I would be sympathetic to Arsenal. Though I like Barca more. I thought it was obvious that he heard the whistle and kicked the ball away. In all fairness if RVP thought he was through on goal he wouldnāt draw an ignorant boot on the ball.
