Champions League - Round of 16

8 ties. 7 dead rubber second legs.

The RTE panel seemed delighted with themselves for cracking Mourinho’s mind games

Johnny Giles says “van Persie is a prat”. He’s dead right, too.

Van Persie is a prat.

Like it was sophisticated psychology that they’ve just unravelled.

they will only have 2 participants next year surely

Giles has called out RVP here:clap:

Richie thinks United are better than people think because Rio will be gone in the summer anyway.

Richie being stitched up like a kipper here

I thought John was going to smack him when Richie put words in his mouth.

Describe that stamp

yeah because BBCscotland , jamie redknapp’s analysis and sid lowe’s twitter feed is so much more informative, west brit gobshite

John and Richie both failed to apply logic to their argument/stance. That made it a strangely interesting exchange.

Sadlier actually had a decent argument but couldn’t articulate it very well.

Giles sounded someone who attended the slow learners class while reading out that transcript

Mr Wenger is clearly conscious of print deadlines for tomorrow’s papers with his post-match comments so he got in his whinging about the referee a day early.

Is it that we’re mostly only exposed to quotes from managers in the EPL or do they all of a chip on their shoulder about referees? I think Wenger is a good manager (he’ll be relieved to hear that) but he says an awful lot of stupid stuff, particularly when it comes to referees. Moaning now about red cards for his players - and of course the message isn’t whether they are right or wrong but whether they “kill off the interest of the game.”

for somebody who is obviously very intelligent and articulate he has come out with some totally blinkered opinions in the last 2 seasons or so… really stupid stuff…

Arsenal have only named 6 subs as they flew Ryo Miyaichi out before realising he was ineligible.

Kroos and Muller are left on the bench for Bayern.

Forza Milan!

Atletico 1 up already.
