Neymar is out for three months with a broken metatarsal, according to a caption on the television version of RTE’s Liveline.
Three things jump out at me here:
i) PSG’s chances of overturning their 3-1 first leg deficit against Real Madrid have been given a significant boost, as dressing room morale will now improve immeasurably.
ii) Brazil is about to experience a similar widespread public fascination with metatarsals to the one England experienced between April and June 2002. Ordinary Brazilians will be furiously Googling away in an effort to appear more knowledgeable on the subject than their peers.
iii) Neymar is probably making the whole thing up and is not injured at all.
