Spurs wouldn’t have won the tournament if they had advanced tonight but its a fairly galling defeat that has the capacity to derail the season. Imperative to win at Bournemouth on Saturday and win the FA Cup as well. Pochettino has always had a sniffy attitude to the FA Cup. I wouldn’t be that pushed either way as to whether Pochettino is there next season.

I don’t think I’ve seen a worse performance at this stage of champs lge than Rabiot for PSG last night. .couldn’t handle being tackled and looked shell shocked…gave ball away so many times and his attempted clearance for madrid second goal was horrendous. .

Let’s wait for the post match interview from Chiellini after the final in Kyiv. Juventus invariably always find a way to lose in the final of this tournament, a record 7 losses in 9 final appearances. Finals in Kyiv wouldn’t have particularly fond memories for Chiellini. He was part of the Italy team hammered 4-0 by Spain in the 2012 European Championships final in Kyiv.

Harsh to pin that all on Pochetino. Ferguson was constantly found-out in Europe with far better teams. Think he’s done a great job bringing Spurs to where they are on a limited budget. Not sure there are many out there capable of doing a better job.

United were competitive in Europe between 98 and 2013. 15 seasons. 2 wins is average but they did lose 2 finals to a great Barcelona side. There was also an outstanding Ac Milan team in that period. The only other PL teams to win or reach the final of the CL in premier league era are Arsenal, Pool (twice) and Chelsea(twice) didn’t win the league the same season.

I always felt Fergie put too much emphasis on the winning the league and that cost him in Europe. Fergie also won the league with bad teams that were probably overrated and didn have much chance in Europe.
