Iām not pining it all on Pochettino but I do feel in season defining crunch games, heās constantly outwitted tactically. Thatās the third season in a row itās happened.
Of course thereās a large element as well, weāre just not strong enough all over the field. Chiellini comments about the Spurs defense were instructive. We had the best defence in the league in 2015/16 and 2016/17. There have been injury issues with Rose and Alderweireld but weāve effectively lost three quarters of that defensive unit to monetary constraints.
Iām not saying otherwise but his team were up against an experienced Juve team. Pochetino nor Spurs are experienced yet. They didnāt get out of their group last year, they topped a group with Real and Dortmund this year. Thereās progress on a very limited budget. Iām just surprised that some wouldnāt be overly disappointed if he left. Who would they get that could do a better job? Ferguson was schooled plenty of times in Europe yet kept making the same mistakes. Does that make him a shit manager?
Spurs should have won, but they didnāt and four seasons into Pochettinoās tenure, games that should be won have to be won. I would have cut him plenty of slack over first few seasons but there comes a time when you have to deliver. Pochettino is at a stage now where he needs to win a few crunch games and a trophy. Winning the FA Cup is an imperative now. That tie against Juventus was lost in the first 10 minutes in Turin.
I know, mates ā I was just messing with my pal. I did however make the mistake of thinking that it was recent 2 weeks back so I still have some egg on my face if that helps?
Sevilla are dangerous cunts when they get run on you, theyāve been fairly wasteful in possession tonight even if United are playing very tight and deep.
Theyāre 11 points off the top four in Spain and have got well beaten at home by Valencia and Atletico in recent weeks. Its embarrassing if Man Utd donāt go through here
