Champions League Round of 8

Actually is Giles looking yellow or something

His face looks bloated as well, like a man on the beer for a month

Bayern equalised in 22 seconds apparently
It’s ridiculous as it presumes that players are more likely to be faking it and penalises those (and their the teams of those) who have the ignominy to actually be injured.

There has got to be a better way that that idiocy.
Ah come on, it’s a sensible rule to prevent a problem that annoyed everyone for years.

What do you mean mate?

It used to happen before rule introduced. Cramp was a favourite near end of games.

The rule was brought in to discourage players feigning injury. It has not achieved this.

All it has done is penalise genuinely injured players and their teams.

Thanks @artfoley.

United getting 80,000 in a week

Martinez…have I got the name right?

Has cut a lot of it out. Before it was introduced it was a real time wasting exercise. Players don’t fake so much now especially before set pieces.

Thought Phil Jones was outstanding over both legs and completely nullified the Ribery threat.

This is Bill O’Herlihy’s final time to present coverage of a Champions League match with Manchester United involved.

Forget Brian O’Driscoll - this is a real of end of an era in Irish sport.

I seem to recall him scoring good goals and playing well v bayern, Roma and Milan in big CL games before but I certainly may be wrong and they may well be years ago. Someone else who’s more intelligent than me might remember.

Who can ever forget his last minute winner against AC Milan?

What a pity Ronaldo missed the return leg.

Me.

Liam: 'We haven’t seen a lot of Atletico Madrid Bill cos they haven’t played an English team o_O

Who crossed for Mandzukic’s goal?

When Atletico last got to the final four of the premier European competition in 1974, they had 3 players sent off in the first leg away to Celtic. They were meant to be vicious and Billy McNeill still refers to them as “scum”. That’s why I only supported them for a brief 3 month spell during a period of weakness around 3 years ago.

I can’t support Racing Club de Avallaneda for a similar reason.
