Leaders lead by example, whether in a sporting context or any other context. They lift the performance of those around them, something Ronaldo has done throughout his career and is still doing at 33. Messi for all his talent is lacking in this regard, quite consistently in recent seasons.
Stick to something you know more about, such as tractor pulling, mate.

The fault there was Karius’ . He arsed around too long to distribute the ball. VVD didn’t even want it.

Van Dijk prefers playing as left sided centre back but isn’t comfortable opening the play and taking the ball forward on his left. It’s a strange enough one because he’s a talented footballer apart from being a very accomplished defender. His body position and first touch when receiving the ball usually dictates that he takes it back inside, but he’s then often good enough to slide a pass through a crowded midfield or sling a big diagonal to someone out right. But he’s rarely comfortable in that position he found himself in for the first goal.
Karius’ distribution isn’t great. He launched a high ball up to Salah at one stage when he had two on him. Straigbt down the middle. Brainless like the midfielders.
Souness was going bad at Pep for reverting to a back four at half time when everything was going great in the first half.
I did notice Walker coming forward a lot more in the second but I thought that the mad bastard had told him to push on as well from the back three.
