Really low profile for this - probably because there are no English or Irish (or even Scottish or Welsh) teams involved so the nearest media aren’t too interested.
The Bayern v Juventus tie has the makings of a cracker. Bayern warmed up with a 9-2 win at the weekend, even after they supposedly eased down in the second half to save themselves for this.
Usually watch Barca whenever they’re on (if only to see Messi) but will opt for the other one this time. What’s on tv here? Do TV3 still show games at this stage?
I will be watching the Bayern match which should be a cracking match. I would expect Barca to win handy enough especially with Tito back in the dugout.
Juventus v Bayern is undoubtedly the tie of the round. I have a real feeling for the Italians here. They are a high priced 9/2 to win tonight which is a possibility but I’d be confident of a score draw.
This is a very difficult decision, think I might end up just whipping out the laptop and running one of them off the Sky Player/ TV3 Player and one of them on the TV. I definitely think Juventus will account for Bayern over the two legs, I think Juventus will win the trophy outright. In the other game hopefully Carlo gets his tactics spot on, I’m not to sure on the team news, is Verratti available? He will be huge tonight if he is, Matuidi is a beast as well and Thiago Motta is another player who PSG need in that middle sector, IMO.
Verratti doesn’t start so I’m assuming he is unavailable. Beckham in from the start, I presume this is for his pinpoint delivery from corners and wide free kicks. A very bold call from Carletto to go with just the two in the middle of the pitch against Barcelona - one of those players being a 37 year old Beckham.
Beckham and Matuidi up against a load of Barca central midfield players. More than interesting.
Some talk at the weekend that Juve were going to go 3-5-1-1 with Pogba coming in but they’ve gone for Quagliarella upfront with Matri in their usual 3-5-2.
Matuidi has been one of the best players in Europe this year, along with Thiago Silva and Lavezzi he is a yellow card away form missing the second leg.
