Champions League - Round of Four

Put that into English please.

2001 UEFA cup

You’re getting stuffed in the final when you face a team of pedigree.

That’s a serious clamping.

Roma were gifted two soft penalties by the ref and Milner gifted them an og to try to make it respectable so that the stabbers coukd go home to mamma with their heads held high.

At least they didn’t lose to mongrels like Roma.

Only because English teams have referees in their pockets.

Dry your eyes mate

Nice to see they’re out of Italian pockets.

They were never in Italian pockets.

West Germany cheated out of a World Cup by the Brits.

Should you not be on the England supporters World Cup thread with such musings? I’m not exactly sure what you are referring to in any case.

I do recall quite vividly England gettimg cheated out of the World Cup against Germany in Bloemfontein in 2010. Probably payback for winning in Bloemfontein in 1902. Germany were defeated as well when it really mattered in 1918 and 1945.

England were cheated out of the World Cup against Argentina in 1986. The Argies were defeated though when it really mattered in the Falklands in 1982.

They got beat 4-1 mate

We did and were outplayed over the course of that match in Bloemfontein. Goals change the courses of matches though. Lampard’s goal is allowed, England are level at 2-2 from 0-2 down not having really been in the match up to that stage. Germany were creaking a bit in that match either side of half time. Lampard struck the bar just after half time as well in a rare spell of England dominance.

England were coasting at 2-0 up against West Germany in the 1970 quarter final, having completely outplayed the Germans. Sir Alf takes off Bobby Charlton for Colin Bell to rest him up for the semi final, the Germans get two quick goals (with a lot of help from Peter Bonetti) and England go out in extra time.
