heard on newstalk there are lunchtime that Kevin Myers has suggested that we change the tricolour and use a Gold harp on a Green background as our national flag rather than the tricolour. The presidential standard is a gold harp on a blue background.
My own opinion is I think Myers suggestion is a good one. how about yourselves?
But shur youāre asking for three other provinces to take on the flag of another province, thereād be no hope of that, even though Tipperary did sport Kilkennyās crest for decades in GAA terms. As for getting rid of the tricolour, Iād say no, not a goer.

Guinness would love that anyway.
Bullshit idea anyway. Absolutely no need. The tricolour is a good representation of an ideal Ireland.
[/quote]+1 Nothing wrong with what we already use.
I dont see what the big deal is, sure the orangemen that someone mentioned above call the orange part gold and think it represents the Pope and Vatican and not them.
Me I would have a flag with the four provinces symbols on it, that would be more inclusive than the tricolour.
Why only the four? Just because the Brits couldnāt rule the five and thought four would be better administered, itās no reason for us to follow suit. Restore Meath to the equation and Iād be happy to have the 5 provinces flag.
