Cheap Basic .ie Registration and website hosting

Hey lads.

I’m looking to buy a .ie domain to host a single bit of code that will just redirect to a site that already exists.

The site that is currently ther is just a bit cumbersome adress wise. So this will simplify it. I just don’t think it would be worth what we would have to pay on some sites.

Any opinions on the cheapest way of doing this.

The two options I’ve found so far is:
http://www.nua.ie/
80 pa
http://www.hostingireland.ie/
110 the first year. 40 pa after.

There may be much cheaper options out there that they are unaware of.

You don’t need to host anywhere to redirect. You should be able to do that when you buy the domain itself. So you buy the domain and then you update the CNAME records etc to map it to the existing webspace.

So all you really need is a .ie domain, not any webspace.

Have a look at register.ie and blacknight.ie for alternatives, can’t see most of those sites in work.

So who hosts the CNAME records?

Ok, I think I’ve got it. Thanks Rocko!
