Cheltenham 2012

Was decent enough win in the circumstances. Serious traffic there.

Got the tri cast up for .15c :0)

Great to see AP getting up as well. A hard man if ever there was one

just watching replay, I think Darlan was about to come under pressure. Nice race by Olofi too.

Sailors warn ran well

well done DC

Don’t think he’ll have the toe for the fly, grandoet has progressed more for me

I’d fancy Zarkandar way more KC. Was not that impressed by how Grandouet went up the hill in the International. Fast run champion hurdle is what Zarkandar needs. Few will be finishing up the hill better than him. We need to remember that this is only his fourth run over hurdles and that cant be underestimated.

Nothing can beat the fly in a slowly run champion hurdle. Not saying that he will get beaten if race is run at a furious pace but it would make it alot more interesting IMHO.

Put about 8 of them into it in fairness!

Nicholls just said they are running celestial halo in champion. with overturn set to run we could get a very fast champion hurdle.

*please DB and Laz go easy

Folks pp have just gone 16s for winner of next to win supreme would advise ew interest

Id be disappointed if Montbazon does not win this.

If he does I’ll be on that slogger at 16/1, I expect colour or vulcanite to fight it out

You couldn’t have written it better fp, hmmmm

Did it well, not an awful lot between Montbazon and Telami on a line through Vulcanite. It was pleasing to see Montbazon pick up after mistake three out.

Clock is right twice a day

Johnson really fiddled on him there, well done fp, want some 16s

I know they have schooled him intensely and you can see why. He is not very natural but in the main not bad. I would just have a suspicion that he maybe better on a flatter track and would be worried about him getting up the hill, although he did finish strongly there.

Couple of observations / questions

  • I think Zarkandar flattened McCoy when jumping that hurdle. Lost his stride and probably cost him 3-4 lengths. Is the win all the more impressive then?
  • Alan King has missed a week or 2 of training apparently due to snow and apparently wasn’t expecting much from his horses. What does that say about Montbazon and Raya Star?

I thought Zarkandar was impressive if not in the visual since for reasons outlined above.

Montbazon has a live chance in supreme but that performance did not scream supreme winner to me.

Raya Star would be my fancy for County after that where conditions will be more in his favour.
