Come and kiss it better for the lad Fenners
Flaxen Flare won it off 10st 7 so would have been very far down the list himself. Mine is 10st 5.
Its not the weight that matters, its the amount ahead of him in the queue. How many hold entries in the Triumph?
Yes he’s 50+ Mac as i said, so there’s 50+ ahead of him for 24 places. Triumph has 50 entries
How many of those ahead of him hold Triumph entries was what I was asking?
Fred Winter, County Hurdle and Martin Pipe hurdle have become ridiculously tight in the last few years.

Every handicap at the festival is the same. You need a well rated horse to even get into most of them these days and a proper graded horse to have any chance of winning

I count 22 or a bit more ahead of him on list also have Triumph entries. Let’s say the number gets to 30, how many of that 30 are likely to get into Triumph anyway? 20? I have a chance if loads of them do, and then a few withdrawals too. Are these entries lists updated regularly?
You hoping Elliott can win it again?

No i hope not, it’s not an Elliot horse. Was just citing his as an example at similar weight to mine. Interestingly in 2013 there were horses under 10st so my chap with 10st 5 might have a chance yet.

Fuck off
You have done your dough TT I’m afraid.
It’s too early to say, sure loads could come out yet through other races or withdrawals.
@fenwaypark you tipped Arzal up for the County Hurdle antepost but he’s no. 47 in the list of entries in that. So how do you tally that he’s likely to get into that race but my one isn’t?
I tipped him up in the knowledge that his rating would be good enough to make the field in a normal year. Big difference between the county and fred winter. Most entered in fred winter will have that as their main race/only entry. That is not the case with county, where many would have multiple entries.
But loads in Fred Winter have Triumph entries to name one other race? There’s at least 25 above mine with Triumph entries so how can you definitively rule out mine getting in but yours will. In 2013 horses with less than 10st raced in Fred Winter, mine is carrying 10st 5. So “in a normal year” does mine get into the Fred Winter?
@Sandymount Red , Arzal is rated 139. Winner of county last year had same rating. Lowest rated horse in County last year was 133.
Yeah, that’s one other race. Those in county are entered in martin pipe, coral cup, supreme novice, neptune. See post above re:arzal.
Also, those entered in Fred Winter would have that as their number one choice over running in Triumph. If you have a well handicapped horse, you are not going to blow its mark by running in a Triumph.
