I see ferny hollow is due to go chasing. Imo willie will split ferny 2 miles, appreciate it 2 and a half and galopin des champs 3 miles.

I think appreciate it won the supreme by setting a relentless gallop over two miles. Possibly in similar fashion to klassical dream, vautour and champagne fever.

As we found out they were better in time over trips and I think the same will happen with appreciate it.

I think there’s 11 jumps in the arkle compared to the 8 hurdles of the two mile trip in the supreme. I don’t think that’ll suit appreciate it as he won’t be able to build up a head off steam like he has done over hurdles.

I’ve also heard gallaird du mesnil will be aimed at the Stayers and Gordon is tempted to go that way with abacadbrus also who could be interesting.

Outside of nicky it’s very tricky to see many English novice hurdlers competing with willie, Gordon and Henry this season.

Way too early to tell.

We’ll see but it looks like an incredible year for novice hurdlers.

This has been the trend for a number of seasons now I believe. So few horses actually get a crack at the gold cup during their peak.

I wouldn’t like to be laying pied piper @ 16s for the fred winter.

Gordon was willing to split quilixious and zan last year before things went tits up so I’d be very confident he’ll split fil dor and pied piper.

Even his comments post race sounded like a plan had belly up.

Been a member for quite a while here now but this is my first post, really enjoy this thread, especially your contributions. Pied Piper does look interesting at those odds in the Boodles. Elliot also hinted at Ginto going for the Alfred Bartlett after racing yesterday, 8/1 looks great value. What about Braeside in the Kim Muir? Any word on Gaelic Warrior, thought we would see him out at Christmas. I think Vauban will improve and the hill at Cheltenham could suit. He was a Listed winner over 1m4f on the flat in France.

It’s cancelled due to the covid. Boris just announced it on sky news there now

No word on Gaelic warrior but he’s meant to be smart. They might start him off in the grade 3 and run him as a maiden in the triumph.

Braeside was hugely eye catching. He needs an extreme trip imo and I’d actually bet him for the national tbh.

English horses are getting dropped very quickly this year. Cloth cap is down to 148 which he bolted up off last season.

Look at the mark Edwardstone has. That’s the English problem right there. Too much racing with horses getting inflated marks off the back of beating mediocre horses. There are beginner chases here, better than a lot of the graded races in UK. Its the reason Irish novices are so dominant in handicaps, even with the Irish penalty, they are well in, in comparision to English horses.

Honestly, it’s got to the stage where you are better off just watching the Irish racing. Shiskin is the only UK horse that may win at Cheltenham.

You better provide the forum with a 8/1+ winner if you want to hang around here bud.

There’s definitely a move to drop handicappers anyway. Well await the Irish marks.

I still like alpha mix for the Kim muir.

Edwardstone should be running in grand annual. He wont be sighted in the Arkle. Third time lucki the same.

Knock on effect of the British novice hurdlers being brutal last season.

Yeah, but look at marks metier and soaring glory had going into festival. Just nowhere good enough. Horses like edwardstone and third time lucki have no future as they are not grade 1 class and are too high to run in decent handicaps.

If we had racing every day with multiple meetings, we would have the same problem.
