The one minute bulllet games are where it’s at. Checkmate in two seconds.
Any game of chess that lasts less than one hour you might as well be playing snakes and ladders
Fast twitch training is not for everybody.
What do you start on?
700 is about middle of the road for the middle of the road players, but nowhere near decent.
The stats tell me I’m better than 35% of players on the site. The top 1000 players are 2600 plus, they’d be Grand Master level more or less
Good going. I’m playing the one minute bullet games last few weeks. I’m at 800.
I get the odd message increasing my score because a lad was cheating. I looked into it and they use bots.
Apparently a lad whose ranked at 2000 has a 99 per cent chance of beating a lad ranked at 1000.
They are Grand masters alright, at botting. Id say there are no more than 2k GMs in the whole world it’s a highly elite title in itself to reach that level.
Most of them are actual legit Grand Masters
It’s a great mental exercise to play the odd game of chess.
We don’t have an Irish born GM even, Baburin is an Irish citizen on the FIDE committee and a senior trainer.
I played a bit of chess in school. I signed up for a tournament when I was in first year and I was drawn against Conor Kelly who was a fifth year and the school swot. I had learned this whizz bang start where you could checkmate your opponent in three moves. I tried it on Kelly and called checkmate with a big smirky head on me. He said I don’t think so and then took out my Queen and then proceeded to demolish me in about 5 minutes flat.
