Galtee Mountain Boy.
That song was to air of Galway bay? WTF?
The finals are saving hurling in a way, to the larger audience anyway.
It was a shit championship overall though.
The ref had a shocker…
Fair enough SS!
No, the Galtee Mountain Boy.
Do you know your counties songs at all?
Congrats Mullach Ide, Tipptops**, Noddy and Sheikh Bo. Rodys will be hopping through til tomorrow night I imagine, enjoy.
One downside, can you imagine how fucking unbearable that cunt on the Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show will be after this?
I don’t get ya on this, they don’t do that anymore.
They work hard for 70 mins, and make their bursts of scoring. Just like KK really.
In the past they slacked off in the work rate, but thats gone with a long time, since last years semi final i’d say.
Would disagree they went out of the game for the last 7 or 8 minutes of the first half and again after the goals allowing Kilkenny’s half backline to win/pick up plenty of uncontested ball, did the same against Galway mid way through the second half in the quarter final as well…When in full flight they are some side though, have 5 excellent finshers and their movement if excellent…If they can develop the likes of Buggy or Murphy into senior I/C hurlers to give them a bit more balance in teh forwards along with Callinan and Pa Bourke they will have serious options in the coming years
They do, but i would never bet on them winning it next year, they have a poor record in 2-in-a-rows.
Tipp deserved winners but the game was far closer than the final scoreline suggested. Richie Power’s missed free with about five minutes to go was crucial. I thought when it came to it today he bottled it for KK. Diabolical Conor Mortimer effort tapping over a handy point near the end when they needed a goal. The number 7 Maher was superb for Tipp. My man of the match. Cody made a lot of changes but made a huge error not replacing Noel Hickey early on. His attempt to stop Corbett for the first goal was u-12 esque and he lost all confidence after that. Callinan made a huge impact when introduced. Corbett finished the goals well and I thought the no.10 had a great second half. KK badly used possession too often and had a few players - Hickey, Brennan and Fitzpatrick that were diabolical.
Fair play to Tipp, no excuses, better team by far won on the day. Hope they go on now and who more with that brand of hurling.
Pretty remiss of you to leave runt out of this list.
A shocking oversight. Runt, my apologies.
Not sure about this, looking back Tipp were well on top for the vast majority of the game.
It only ends once and it ends today.
Absolutely Locke. No complaints, no excuses.
Tipp blew us away in the same way that we usually do to other teams.
4 goals. Wonderful workrate. Never gave Kilkenny a second.
Fitting that Tipp kept the tradition of back to back goals in AI Finals that moved to 4 years in a row now.
Will Kilkenny take a year off like Kerry did in 1983?
Will the hunger still be there?
Will there be a mini clearout?
Questions for another day. These lads owe us nothing.
Went down swinging.
Congratulations Tipp.
Worthy champions.
Tipp murdered Kilkenny in the end. As I said further up the thread all this talk about the KK strength in depth and the legendary training matches and how their subs are the second best team in Ireland, and then they have to line out with two cripples, and then to cap it all KKs “go to” men to pull the game out of the fire are John Mulhall and Richie Hogan!
Talk about the emperors new clothes.
I presume Noel Hickey will retire after this embarrassment. Liam Lawlor did twice the job of marking Lar Corbett. I preseume he is nailed down for the full back All Star after holding the HOTY to one goal.
All Star full back would between Curran and Kavanagh
Que?
