Clare Gaa 🐐 Thread mark II

Doonbeg or Ennistymon?

:joy:
You’d be fuming.

Doonbeg, sure ennistimon have had a fairly steady stream of decent underage teams

I have a book somewhere called The Flying Magpies a history of Doonbeg football. I’ve never read it.

They are a great club

David Tubridy still racking up big scores I’d imagine?

Still kicking these frees anyway I see from the reports yesterday. If His performances with Clare the last few years are anything to go by, he has matured like a fine wine.

Still kicking three or four from play most days, when you’d think you have him well closed-down. Missed two gettable ones yesterday at the same time

Losers from winners group play winners from losers group?
How do you get from 6 to 4 then ?

Losers in either section are gone next time out. 3 winners of winners games, and one from the playoff of the losers section make up the semi-finalists.

How does losers group play off work?
Harsh enough on the winners group that they don’t get a second chance?

It is indeed, afaik some of the stronger clubs were pushing for seeded groups of 3 where they got to play the losers of the first match, and that got voted down when there was no compromise. Has fairly backfired on a few of them now.

A player from a senior football club has reportedly tested positive since the first round. A dual club so dunno what happens with this weekend’s hurling action

At this stage you’d find it hard to see country championships being competed

Conservative nature of most county boards will lean towards cancelling everything rather than running any perceived risks

Some clusterfuck. Pardon the pun.

Cratloe has fallen.
