Clare Gaa 🐐 Thread mark II

Lot of granular detail there.

Anyone hear how the Ruan girls got on?

Do we think that the sideshow in Ballyea will actually affect the team or are they justifiable favourites after the weekend’s victory?

Disappointing from I/K you would have to think?

There are probably 8 teams that could win it this year

Summary please @Raylan

Racing now, so summaries later

In what?

Regarding Ballyea, how many of their senior panel would be from outside their parish? Eg West Clare men from football only clubs? Do Kilmaley take in a few outsiders also?

I’m not sure of the exact numbers but Gary Brennan, Pearse Lillis and a few more are. TK, Jack Browne and Deasy are Ballyea. Before Tony Griffin came along, many of there better players went into play with Clarecastle.

Kilmaley have the Conor Cleary who is from Milltown Malbay. Few more also.

Inagh would also take a few from west Clare aswell.

Ballyea would have the highest amount but @Raylan would know the exact numbers.

Brennan is from ballyea parish

From the last day out
Ballyea:
1: Cathal Doohan - Lissycasey?
2: Peter Casey
3: Paul Flanagan
4: Brandon O’Connell
5: Morgan Garry
6: Jack Browne
7: James Murphy
8: Gudgie O’Connell
9: Tony Kelly
10: Cathal O’Connor - Coolmeen
11: Niall Deasy (captain)
17: Stan Lineen - Kilmihil
23: Cian Kirby
14: Mossy Gavin
30: Damian Burke - Cooraclare

Guinnane from Kildysart came on the last day as well. Marty O’Leary from Kilmihil played in Rd 1. They’ve had more outsiders than that in recent years. The Clondegad footballers like the Brennans are considered to be from the same parish generally.

Doohan, Lineen and O’Leary would have hurled with ballyea all the way up through underage, not so sure on Burke. O’Connor didn’t hurl for years before playing with Ballyea the past few seasons - not sure who he played underage with

O’Connor hurled with Eire og

Absolutely correct.

Ballyea had a decent young goalie. Is he still playing? Coote?

Rumours about that Shane o Donnell isn’t committing to the senior panel next season.

Wasnt there talk of him heading to the States for work- career prospects

Massive loss. He was Clares beat player this year
