The culture in Waterford was of hurling only aplroach of Justin Mac. The players themselves felt they needed a more agressive approach. Even when its wrong sometimes its right. If players want somethi g then no matter what way they get it if they are intrinsically motivated it mayters little how actually good the coaching is. It made them feel special, professional and part of the big boys.
Was it all nonsense? Ya of course. Did they see thru him in the end, i have no doubt. But sometimes thats not the point.
Great post. A good manager can find the mix between doing what the players think is right and what is actually right.
