Ruan and Scarriff are goneā€¦
@chewy louie How are the relegation matchups looking?

Am I right in saying that thereā€™s 5 teams to go down to facilitate a restructured championship for next year? Who plays who or are some teams already relegated?
I am out of the loop on the club scene but I think the way it works is that the bottom two in each group of the senior B are relegated - Scariff and Ruan.

The four teams that finished second and third in the senior B go into the relegation draw wi the three bottom sides in senior A. I think there is a draw so that three of the senior B sides play the three senior B sides, the losers along with the fourth senior B will then play off - semi final and final with only the winner staying up and the other three dropping down

Other 7 teams go into a convoluted playoff of which 3 teams will be relegated

From Senior A - Tulla, kilmaley, Clooney
From the B
2nd place- broadford and Whitegate
3rd place- tones and St Joes

Who would you fancy for the drop? Three from Tulla, Whitegate, Tones and Josephs?

Draw will be crucial. Either Joes or Tones would fancy say Tulla I thinkā€¦

Tulla are in big trouble. Broadford were hammered by the Mills and seem to be struggling, they cant be deemed safe.
I think Clooney and Kilmaley look good enough to survive it
Rest depends on the drawā€¦all eyes on that

Tubber are some outfitā€¦how they do it ill never know

In fairness to Tubber they have some fine hurlers, considering their pick it is some achievement. There probably isnā€™t more tha 500 people in the parish

Draw for the Quarter fianls in the hurling

Cratloe v Eire Og
Clarecastle v Ballyea
Fireballs v Clonlara
Newmarket v Crusheen

Relegation play offs

Broadford v Clooney
St Josephs v Kilmaley
Tulla v Whitegate
Wolfe Tones a bye

Cratloe, Clonlara, Ballyea and Newmarket to make the semis. Clon v Cratloe final if they avoid each other in the semis.
Broadford, Josephs & Whitegate to join Tones in the relgation mix

If Ruan and Scariff are already relegated, how are the other 3 decided? Do the losers of those three games go down with Shannon getting a get out of jail free card or do Tones end up being drawn against one of the playoff losers?

The three losers and Tones will play off in two semi finals, two losers relegated, the two winners then meet with the winner staying up. So three from four go down

an geata got a huge break thereā€¦

Very winnable game for them, both sides will fancy their chances of winning that.

Tulla are in complete disarray

What are Clarecastle like these days? will they get over their neighbours?

the shouldnā€™t , if Ballyea perform they will beat them, but you never know, maggies had Clonlara pinned down at a similar stage last year with 10mins to go until a Conlon goal got them out of it. The problem Ballyhea have is that they donā€™t get goals and donā€™t put teams away. CC could easily get a foot hold and if they do and the shower from maddens terrace wake up you know what happens ! I am prob going to go with Bhea in the last man standing but its a risk IMO but its the only fixture from which the winner def wont come so to pick the winner of it is the best way to use a team selection

I havenā€™t seen Cā€™Castle hurl in a good few years. What is the spine of their side? Kelly, Oā€™Halloran, Clancy, Plunkett, Duggan?

Yeah, Eric Flynn still there with Seanie Maloney, also got some good stick your defenders (Ryan) and some nice young forward in Ward, Duggan, OGorman an another FF lad whoā€™s name escapes meā€¦they had Daly involved 2 years ago when the played SMB in the park and they should have beaten them, last year they didā€¦so it shows you what they are capable of on a given dayā€¦and parish neighboursā€¦hmm

Is Casey the other young lad inn the forwards? Is Aaron Considine hurling at all these days after the bad knock out he got a couple of years back? I presume Kierse and Johnny Callinanā€™s young lad are still in the mix

young callinan that was the other lad. no, kierse not playing nor casey this year. Considine is back playing AFAIK on panel

Callinan must be 24 or 25. Isnā€™t Gearoid Ryan Cā€™Castle as well, minor C/B from 2012?

yeah, heā€™s RCB, they are useful enough
