You should try a bit of fishing on http://clarehurlersforum.proboards.com/ buddy. Youā€™d surely get a couple of nibbles over there.

Welcome back Joe. I expect you to sort out a few boyos around here who are getting a bit big for their boots.

Yet again, your expectations will meet with disappointment.

Didnā€™t see the match but not surprised with the result. Management are doing themselves no favours whatsoever with the lay out of the side and the style of hurling we are using, the goodwill towards Davy at this stage is all but eroded.

What harm but I donā€™t think many would be put out with losing a league game in February in isolation or if even two or three of the likes of Paul Flanagan, Stephen Oā€™Halloran, Shane Golden, Cathal Malone, Tots Oā€™Connell etc were given the start but instead he persists with the likes of Pat Donnellan in the half forward line and with a side that is seriously lacking balance which is frustrating all supporters. Granted we are missing a good few players with injuries and knocks but that is all the more reason give the fringe lads their chance but putting out the exact same 15 again was bizarre to say the least.

Now maybe this will be a wake up call but I donā€™t see him using it for a catalyst for change and it will be a frustrating year if we continue down this path, similar to the last 12 months unfortunately

From an outsiderā€™s point of view, itā€™s clear that Clare can still be a force to be reckoned with in the summer. But the issues that you mention obviously have the potential to completely sabotage things at the same time. If everyone is fit and you pair McGrath and Oā€™Donnell inside and release Conlon to the half forward line, get Kelly back around the middle third to give Galvin a hand and you integrate one or two new players into the side instead of perhaps Donnellan and AN Other then Clare should be strong.

We are lacking a consistent aerial threat in half forward line and a physical midfield partner Galvin in terms of the balance of the overall team. If we had both, or even one of the two it would make a serious difference. We are far too easy to play against and there is a lot of pressure on our backs mainly due to the fact that other teams have backlines dominate in the air against us and we struggle to get a foot hold. When we do get on on top we can be excellent but we havenā€™t been able to do that consistently since Tipp in the league this time last year.

Where are you from kid

America.

Cool. What part. I spend time in new york

Do you not see it as a problem that the players absolutely dispise DF?
Nobody in the country will work with him.

Clare are absolutely bollixed. They made Cork look good last and Cork are only papering cracks as well.

Shane Oā€™Donnell is looking more and more a flash in the pan every time i see him.

Even if he is looking like a flash in the pan which I donā€™t agree with pal, he has the AI medal in the pocket to be fair. We have a massive challenge facing us and I would take league form with a pinch of salt.

All that matters is that Clare lost. No point dissecting the lossā€¦they lost.
