Its hard to know how good that Clare team is. They have some excellent player like TK, David McInerney, Conor Ryan, McGrath and O’Donnell and then some players that have never really shown much at senior level like Browne, Golden, Honan, Ryan(IMO)

Jack Browne gets a lot of unfair criticism due to the Cork and Wexford replay last year. He isn’t a corner back at this level as he simply hasn’t the athleticism to play there as he wasn’t able to get out in front and then fouled when isolated. He has been solid out since moving to wing back in the first game against Kilkenny in the league and was good in the relegation final and solid against both Limerick and Offaly and will be solid against Cork too and will only get better for the more games he gets there.

He has excellent instincts and reads the game very well. Does a lot of covering and unglamorous tidying up work which you don’t really see on tv. He is every bit as good a wing back as Padraig Walsh if not better IMHO.

Ah now don’t know how you could say that. You do see a lot more of him than me though so I’ll try to look out for him a bit more tomorrow

I don’t think Padraig Walsh is all that great. He has a bit of cut about him but I think he benefits hugely by the way the Kilkenny defence sets up and the cover they get from midfield and their half forward line.

I’d rate him fairly highly myself. He did struggle with Glynn a bit though in the air last weekend

Davy gave a reasonably upbeat interview on the radio afterwards and certainly didn’t sound like a man who was considering walking away

Heard that.

He was upbeat that clare created about 3 goal chances, so we did, and cork created none.

Not going anywhere judging by his soundings. Considering this a multi year project.
