I have been listening to a lot of Russian music lately. Trying to make sense of it all. This is up there with the very greatest obvs.
None of it makes any sense. The tension in the Russian school is what sets it apart from the rest. Stravinsky I think Mastered it better than any. Shostakovic too maybe but always found him hard to warm too
