I’m thinking Boyle or Mulligan, must look into it some more.
Maynooth caused a huge shock yesterday when they beat UUJ to get to the weekend of the Sigerson. They did it also while down to 14, with Ger Brennan (the most over rated footballer in ireland) sent off.
DCU easily beat champions CIT, who haven’t been going well this year. Just like last year a mass brawl finished the game, Corks Paul Kerrigan the only man to see red though. These 2 sides really do hate each other. There seems to be alot of resentment to DCU in general. Probably has to do with the money they throw at players.
Anyway the semi finals are;
Athlone IT v. UCC
DCU v. Maynooth
Expect DCU to beat UCC in the final.
Nah that’s O 'Donovan you’re thinking of. Good footballer alright. Fitzy plays for Corofin alright.
Kieran Comer is a defender isnt he? Been on the scene a while now, captained Galway in the past. Might even have an AI medal? Or am I mistaking him too…?
Tonight is my first night back. The rest of them have been back about 3 weeks so I’m expecting a particularly tough night.
No Kieran is an out and out forward. It’s his first cousin Mikey (who’s injured at the moment) that you’re thinking of that’s the defender. Kieran as far as I remember was captain of Galway in 2000 but never really made the team so PJ held the armband for most of the championship. He also won an all-Ireland club medal with Corofin as a 16 year old in 1998.
Nah, I looked it up, it was Kieran Fitz I was thinking of, the ginger, nevermind.
Portlaoise have question marks over Peter McNulty and Colm Byrne for this weekend. Both would be serious losses to the Town, especially Byrne as he’s an extra weapon to have in hte forward line as opposed to the other smaller fellas. Great pair of hands and has been good for the odd score and setting up far more. Chicken would be a bit of a loss too, but Cahillane has taken a lot of his thunder this year anyway, even with the frees and Brian Smyth would cover teh loss of Chicken, but all wil be needed on Sunday.
I fancy Kev Fitz, Cahir Healy, Aidan Fennelly and Craig Rogers to have big games this weekend, Portlaoise by 5 plus.
can any of our Western capital natives inform me of the weather situation around the gaelic grounds at present? Going to travel but don’t want to get caught out if the Clare based stadium is snowed under. I imagine a dirty day will suit the Clare mullockers the better. A bad day would most likely reduce The Towns winning margin to 4 points.
i hate the way they keep moving the boundaries.
Apparently that’s on the cards again.
Is the puke a limerick man yet?
I’m shouting for KIB here for no reason other than MBB regularly referring to Portlaoise as ‘the town’. Rampant boggerism like that really grinds my gears.
St Gall v Corofin has been called off, presume TG4 will show the KIB match…
The KIB match is on TG4, fine bright day in pairc na gael
Thats the job for one of them cunts from the town
Shocking bad tackle alright but it wasn’t that malicious either. Some dose getting the line after forty seconds.
Portlaoise seem to be doing an awful lot of bitching and moaning to the ref, they don’t seem to like the rough stuff, which KIB absolutely love…
Typical town team, soft as shit at the back of it all
If KIB keep their heads and keep working the ball like they did for that last point then they will win this…Portlaoise could well implode as well…
That is KIB’s defense at it’s best, they just don’t give up easy scores…Can’t see them throwing away a 5 point lead
