Club Championships 2017

The only forward Kilcormac had is gone for an early shower.

Red rover.

Helmet face guard pull and then a pull across the shin for good measure.

Still seems harsh. The pull had no power in it

Con O’Callaghan is by no means a brilliant hurler in terms of basic skills. You see him fumble the ball quite a bit like he did there near the end of the half and his striking is often less than perfect. But he has the mentality of a psychopathic serial killer on the pitch in the way he moves.

Stonewall red.

They should be down to 13 too.

He’s similar to Shane O Donnell

FFS, it was 2 red card offences rolled into one. He can have no complaints.

Yeah, wasn’t exactly a hatchet job but by the letter of the law…

Cuala players immediately getting on to the umpires and ref could have influenced the decision too.

He is a more natural hurler than a lot of players playing intercounty hurling, I would say. He’s not as naturally skilful as some of the Tipp forwards but he seems very comfortable off either side and is a natural striker.

But yeah, it’s his athleticism that makes him a real threat. Pace, power and also intelligence to go with it.

Although COC is yet to come up against a serious intercounty back in the Leinster Club Championship and has come up against some very naive management teams too.

Cillian Buckley I would think is top class.

Off his left side his striking can sometimes be weak. Another one there a few moments ago. Also, he always goes down to pick up a ball with two hands on the hurley, which looks pretty rudimentary.

It depends more on the lads giving him the ball than the lad he’s marking. He’ll destroy most lads if he’s getting the kind of ball he generally gets with Cuala but if Na Piarsaigh for example are winning the battles around the middle of the field he’ll quieten down a lot

Ah fair enough, Buckley is serious but I don’t know how often he’s played a man marking full-back role and was fairly thrown in the deep end that day.

Penalty.

Soft enough.

On a surface like today, two hands on the hurley is better imo. No point taking chances really.

Decent save, the game needed a goal there.

That was a decent penalty, nothing wrong with it. Smashing reflexes.

Mark schutte to come back in too.

Since the new rule came in for penalties has one ever been pulled back for the taker striking the sliotar inside the 21? Also is the punishment a re-take or a free out?

Most takers seem nervous about encroaching inside the line more than anything and often the strike is tentative enough.

Fat arses not good in the “ rucks “ today.
