Club Championships 2017

Saw Costello last year play for Whitehall and he was well off the pace at senior b level which was disappointing to see.

Footballers only seem to play hurling once the county footballers are done which doesn’t help. Senior b championship was held up last year

Con is better IMO. Danny was even betterer but he’s lost to us now

The eternal lament of Dublin hurling. Fucking football

Not entirely true

Connolly played this evening sure

Seriously?
Great to see.
Is he still good ya

Costello was a great hurler as a minor. The best hurler in the 2012 minor final with John McGrath and Ronan Maher also on the pitch

Diarmuid Connolly plays this time of year always and at the tail end of the year if Vincents still in it

His family very involved in hurling in St Vincents

Mickey Whelan over the Vincents hurlers this year.

Ciaran Kilkenny plays with Castleknock. Conor McHugh is back with Na Fianna too. Paul Flynn did play with Fingallians but not anymore I think. Connolly’s prowess at hurling is overstated in my opinion. He is a decent club hurler but no more than that.

A good club hurler now when he plays but pretty evident as well he had what it took to make it as a hurler if he could have given it more time

only dips in and out now so he not going to dominate games

I’d agree with that. But I still feel he made the right choice and was always a better footballer

I saw him hurl way back, he stood out, but he was also physically dominant.

I seriously doubt he would have been as much of a star. Obviously team mates and profile matter as well but his real strengths that set him apart in football are not as necessary in hurling or certainly the way a man of his size and ohysicality would have been used which is likely a ball winner at h-f who chips in with 2-4 points a game. His balance and movement is ideal (if obviously developed by as well) for Gaelic Football.

Would have been an awful shame had he choosen hurling.

Big win for O’Toole’s

That’s a big step up for Barrog though. Big shock with Craobh beating Na Fianna.

Boden beat Cuala as well

Where does that leave Cuala ??

It’s a 4 team group. Top 2 qualify. They have faughs and Crumlin in the group to play yet. You’d imagine they would account for both handily enough.

Cuala must have been cocky enough to let the game go ahead without Con O’Callaghan.

Sickened I didnt lump on Ballyboden.

Wouldn’t be much between the teams. Cuala beat BBSE after extra time in the county quarter final last year.

Yeah I know Ballyboden are good enough on paper anyway.

Must have been some talent on show in that game that sadly wont tog out for Ger Cunningham.

Off the top of my head.

The two Schuttes, Cronin, Sean Tracey, Paul Ryan, Shane Durkin and Keaney.

All of them plenty to offer Dublin hurling.

Ger Cunningham, no clue.
