It just shows him as a complete cunt. Anyone else would understand the situation, take heed he was one of his own & keep his stupid beak shut.
He couldn’t even do that.
He has caused a shit storm and is going to end up seriously hurt eventually due to his own inadequacies ( being such a dumb bastard ).
Worth noting, the player who carried out the hit, Dooley, didn’t even have the decency to go to King and say it was an accident, in the hours or days after. If you did that much damage, from an accidental strike, you should at least be man enough to apologise, whether its accepted or not is another matter.
The fact that Camross as a club didn’t inquire for his wellbeing either, is another disgusting mark against them.
I didn’t realise at first who Shane Keegan was, turns out he’s the former Galway Utd and Wexford Youths boss. Keegan managed Ross at underage level and has been writing for the Times since he finished with Galway earlier this year.
It’s a tricky one as the referee “dealt” with the incident at the time and deemed it worthy of a yellow card.
One of two things happened next: (a) The CCC ask the referee for clarification and he agrees that it should be upgraded to a red card, or (b) he stands over his original decision.
If (a) is the case, the process should have been straightforward and the only grounds for overturning would be a prcedural error.
If (b), you’re into a grey area as, regardless of obvious evidence, the CCC have dismissed a referee’s report after receiving further clarification of same.
I believe what happened was the referee was asked about the yellow card. He said he gave it for the two pulls (are you fucking kidding me?!). Which gave the CB the opportunity to issue a two game ban for the hurl into the puss.
Dont know. Depends what he was up for in the actual incident of the hit to King or how he defended it. A player ran at him from his blindside, he turned and lifted his hurl to lessen the impact. The hurl caused damage to King, but he did not forcefully hit him, the force came from King running.
Obviously others have different viewpoints on that, but I think it would be easy enough to over turn it on that incident. If he had got sent off for the completely over the top wild pulling, then there would be no way to overturn that and he should have got a red for the blatant offence. If they so wanted, a lengthy suspension for that could have covered them nicely then for what happened just after that.
I believe there was no real proof of intent. Which as we’ve seen here, is fair enough. O Brien in truth made a bollocks of the whole thing. @carryharry told us this would happen.
I believe he refereed the Leinster U21 Hurling this year between Wexford and Galway, was there controversy at this also?
He sent Cody off in a Walsh Cup game not so long ago iirc.
