Club Championships 2018

@Cicero_Dandi
The island?

I think they ran into a bit of bad luck with draws and have a few dual clubs but the bottom line is clubs did not want to play championship in june and july as too many players away for the summer on holidays and J1s hence it was only league games in these months and not championship. Situation replicated in many more counties. Why the CPA or someone in the GAA doesn’t start shouting this from a loudspeaker is beyond me. This is the reason for the backlog not the inter county demands.

The county board the problem so .

Not a bad aul goal, especially considering the conditions today

Great goal. :clap:

Absolute joke the Crossmaglen match isn’t being televised tonight

Moyle Rovers +8 tomorrow?

I’ve just checked the Sky and BT schedules and it’s not on (live) at any rate. Eurosport??

Honestly pal - I doubt if many on here have a desire to spend a Saturday night looking at Johnny Hanratty and his buddies grinding their way forward.

I had a nationalistic sympathy for them in their earlier days but it has waned somewhat. Amend that to totally…

Radio ulster medium.wave have commentary. 2 Coalisland men sent off in first half. Cross man just got second yellow. 6 points each.
(cross sporting pumpkin colours)

I’m expecting a big performance. Celebrations finished on Monday and they were back training Tues. Acheson is a huge loss but bringing the game to ardfinnan is a very good move. Tight pitch in the middle of nowhere.

Problem is that crokes look absolutely savage this year. David Shaw is some addition

Tg4 showed kilcar v slaughtneil on a Saturday night last year and it was one of the games of the year.

Almost 8000 in the athletic grounds tonight. The appetite is there

Cross 2 up in injury time.

13 men a piece

A flurry of late points get Cross over the line.

They will need to improve significantly if they are to get back to former glories. Tyrone champions would traditionally be seen as one of the weakest of all counties at senior level and Cross struggled to get by them this evening.

This is a very inexperienced Cross side with only Aaron Kernan, Morgan, Hughes, Hanratty and Carragher left from the all conquering 2011/2012 team

Indeed, now getting on to the sons of the team from the 90s. The Armagh County final was as good a game of football as played all year, I’d love them to be rewarded for playing the game with skill but the heavy ground could scupper them now.

The abject record of Tyrone clubs in the Ulster Club Championship continues.

They gave Cross a good push.

Tyrone clubs probably have the best record against Cross in Ulster with both Errigal and Omagh beating them.

@glenshane has been vindicated again.
