Ballygunner done most of the hurling and only a point up. The ghost point could be vital here yet.

Both sets of backs well on top, not a day for forwards really. Both sides sitting deep which means they are able to get plenty of numbers around forwards; Hutchinson & WOD both getting on plenty of ball.
Ballygunner love their short stick passing and it broke down a lot early on but they did create two goal chances from it. Hogan is very lively even if he doesn’t get many scores.
I would still say Na Piarsaigh have better forwards than Ballygunner but they need to get the ball into them. Casey hasn’t got much at all, Breen is being well-marshalled. Boylan and Dempsey below where they need to be at. I wonder would they look at bringing Casey out if the ball doesn’t go in, they need him on the ball. There is a protective shield in front of the full-back line but maybe they could move the ball a bit quicker into the space to give those inside men more of a chance.
It’s definitely a game, Ballygunner are a very decent side and Na Piarsaigh aren’t at full throttle. Still, they do have a lot of experience and have fellas on the bench who can make an impact too and would hope for a lot more from some of the players out there.
