Club Championships 2019

This is a joke.

Previously teams would spend January playing College/County teams and would be primed for mid February. Youā€™d get classic games them.

Corofin are only playing from memory here. Both teams appear lacking sharpness and fitness today.

This should have all been wrapped up by Christmas. Joke that they have to wait 2 months between Prov final and this, and another 2 and a half months for the final.

Corofin are miles ahead sharpness wiseā€¦ fitness?come back in 20 mins time and talk about fitness

Iā€™d have left it the way it was. Teams should have been allowed a month to celebrate after provincial win and let it sink in.

If anything Iā€™d push the all Ireland semis to last week in February. What has happened in recent years is teams are so primed for the semi in February that they find it hard to go again for 5 weeks for st Patrickā€™s day.

The best final weā€™ve had in either code in recent times was cuala v na piarsaigh when both teams were aiming for paddys day from January 1st knowing they were going to get over the semi easily enough.

Na Piarsaigh almost got caught v slaughtneil the same year but got over it and were primed for Cuala and probably fucked it away in the drawn game that year

That club hurling final to which you refer was probably the only decent final in years . Over the last 10 years this fixture has in the main produced boring turkey shoots

A tour de France from Kieran Molloy in the first half. Letā€™s hope PJ treats him with a bit more respect than that oaf kevineen

Nemo look very leaden footed

The football finals have scarcely been any better

People have lives to lead and other things to do.

In the last 3 or 4 years yes but it produced many decent games in the preceding decades

The problem with club football is the players find it very difficult to kick the ball over the bar from 20 metres

Classic case in point by Corofin there

Maybe if they practiced kicking the ball in training they might be a bit better

Theirs 10 of the corofin lads in with Joyceā€™s set upā€¦this can only be a good thing for Galway
