Youâd be fair sick if you are from a normal sized club and you end up getting knocked out of the championship at the business end of the year by a divisional team with a pick of half the county.
I know Cork have always included divisional and college teams but if must be a bit demoralizing to get knocked out by an amalgamation team with a sprinkling of intercounty players.
Yes. I hurled Senior with them for years. I donât think they went back to intermediate until 2001. Donât think we ever got past the senior quarter final though.
They were also senior in the early 60s and I think two of the Dublin team that played in the 1961 All Ireland Hurling Final were from Scoil.
Sure beats Waterford v dundalk last night. Eircom league is septic. Imokily shouldnât be in the competition, donât have any support, add nothing to it. They should have been on first too because all the crowd left after the first game.
They field at all age groups boys and girls. They have a huge operation going there on Saturday mornings.
They wouldnât join up with anyone in the locality as the locality is Clontarf and they detest Clontarf and the feeling is mutual.
They have a feeder school, itâs some gaelscoil in Harmonstown that has been a gold mine for the club. When I was in the club the tie in with OâConnell School was on its last legs and very few came through from the school and the club looked like it was finished.
