You always knew you were in a match when you played Craobh. I remember one match getting a belt just above the knee, a couple of inches lower and I wouldâve been a bit more serious than a bit of bruising.
I see it was a Cork lad that did all the damage for Craobh.
2 Con OâCallaghan goals for Cuala inside 6 mins.
Ballyhale playing 1st round vs Ballyragget.
I had a look at the score after 20 minutes. 5-6 0-4.
5-13 to 06 points at half time
Hopefully cuala get out of Dublin. Con a joy to watch.
Cuala were different gravy today. Tore Crokes apart. Canât see anyone in Dublin stopping them.
Imagine if o Callaghan gave it a proper go at the hurling.
Cuala were very impressive. All their big guns back and motoring well. Paul and Mark Schutte, Cian O Callaghan, Sean Moran and King Con. Con is a freak of nature. Every time he wreaks havoc in a hurling match a little piece of me dies. I think he is a better hurler than footballer and that is saying something. It also a measure if the man that he lines out for his club in the opposite code 8 days after winning an All Ireland. The only Dub footballer on club duty this weekend.
Iâd say Daly will finish up with crokes after that hiding. They were robbed of a championship last year but I canât remember the last time they took a beating in championship.
Yeah his first touch wasnât always great today which is to be expected. Mattie Kenny was there, he surely has to go and try and get him to come on board.
And Kilkenny and Connolly.
Connolly, Kilkenny, Costello, Lowndes and Con would make Dublin a very different proposition in hurling.
It would be a shame if they didnât give it a proper go
A hurling medal would be worth more to them at this stage.
Connolly and Kilkenny average enough. Costello was a star underage. I never saw Lowndes play
Costello was an unbelievable minor. Surely a decent chance heâll give it a go at some stage if he continues to just be an impact sub
Kilkenny was a brilliant hurler. A better hurler than he was a footballer. Connolly is a bang average hurler. Lowndes too
Con is the man the hurlers want
Heâd do untold damage, heâd be a pocket rocket wrecking ball
But itâs never gonna happen
Kilkenny was a fine hurler but I always regarded him as a better footballer - again - not gonna happen
OâConghaile was another dual minor in 2011 but I presume his chance at either code at senior is well gone now
Rory OâCarroll is hardly going to get back in with the footballers now, I wonder would he try the hurling, but heâs probably too long gone from the game
I saw Costello play minor hurling a good few times but I honestly canât remember his performances
Jim Gavin doesnât trust him and wonât pick him
None of them will happen for Hurlers unfortunately and I agree. Con is the pick of them all.
He was also the best player by far in the first 2012 final up against a Tipp team with John McGrath, Ronan Maher, Michael Breen, Barry Heffernan
