Club Championships 2021 - is fulvio a cameraman?

Ya some shock. Two years in a row now they’ve bottled heavy favourites tag.

A giant shock

The fucking goalie

Why would they put a lad that looks about 5 foot 2 in goal?

Goalies mate, who the fuck knows?

Is he not still playing soccer for Coleraine?

Great player.

Brolly had an awful set on the two Bradleys when they played for Derry.

Paddy was probably Derry’s greatest ever forward.

Paddy was class used to love watching him.

He is easily 5”10 or so

Laois’ all time top scorer James Young scored 8 points for Clonaslee St Manmans last night in the Junior C Hurling Final. Wasn’t enough as Castletown beat them 12 points to 8.

The real story was that Paddy Mullaney (Ryans older brother) was centre back for Castletown, and captain I think. Former Laois goalkeeper in bad bad times (the 10 goal Cork defeat standing out), Paddy has had a rough time of it lately, losing his wife suddenly to cancer and raising a young family on his own. He’s now manager of Castletown Seniors and hurling away a bit too. Fair play to him. A good sort.

Ah sure it’s Derry Intermediate.

There are only 4 decent clubs in Derry, the intermediate grade there is about the same standard as the reserve league in Tyrone.

Buster Dunne probably cost Clonaslee the game. Booked for mouthing, wouldn’t shut up and got the line. They had to hurl with 14 men for 40 minutes.

Buster Dunne :grinning:. Sounds like a Beano character.

3 Derry clubs have won all Ireland club titles…

Slaughtneil have been the best club side in Ulster over past 5 years or so ( also very competitive at senior hurling at national level )

We’re talking about intermediate football in Derry.

Derry senior club has been dominated by two clubs the past decade. There’s no meritocracy there.

As I said.

Intermediate football in Derry is very poor, a far cry off the standard in Tyrone which has strong clubs across all grades.

How many club in Tyrone & how many in Derry

Then how many are senior . There should ideally be in 1/3 split by senior , inter & junior

Tyrone have 16 in both senior and intermediate and the balance in Junior.

Unlike Kerry, we don’t try and ape our Championships to protect super clubs.

Unlike Derry, it’s straight knockout which means if the fav loses an early round game, they’re gone.

There are 40 clubs in Derry and 2 are hurling on / the is 38 football club . The top 16 play in senior football championship . That is a big number pro rata which would indicate than the intermediate champions may not be great .
