There was expectation last year that wonât be there to the same extent this time round.
Having said that Kilcoo know they messed up last year in Ulster and will be desperate for another shot at it.

They may have done but Scotstown are a brilliant outfit and itâs no shame losing to them. Are they going well in Monaghan again this year?
Thats it. He looks a great prospect. Apart from Ballygunner Na Fianna and Kilmacud Crokes look a class above any club team i have seen in Munster.
Thereâs a roundabout between me and the hospital but itâs still in Galway.
Scotstown are good but Kilcoo are better and totally messed that one up.
Scotstown in a Monaghan Semi Final.
Ulster shaping up well again this year. Bar Glenties, all the heavyweights still standing.
Loughmore have unfinished business with ballygunnar.
They were a couple of miles apart with open land in between them and Clarecastle had its own distinct âcenterâ, all in my lifetime. They have separate identities, as the people from either will attest to.
Same was true for Barefield. Granted, Ennis has very much spilled over into DB and people in those housing estates would tell you they are from Ennis if asked.
But Clarecastle very much was, and still is, distinct.
Id love to see Loughmore beat them but Ballygunner probably too even.
Fr Caseyâs, Doon and Breaffy all in the one year.
Its on.
Tripped into Parnell today for the games. I suppose when the groups were drawn, group 1 looked the stronger one, that was proven right today with all four group 1 teams in action ovef the weekend in QFs and relegation play offs winning with a bit to spare. Shrewd/shrude judge @Loko_Cove alluded to this a few weeks back. One quick rant, I can never understand the crowd that leave after game 1 of a double header.
Anyways the wind was the dominant factor in both games blowing strongly down to the church end. The losing teams in both games had it in the opening half. In game one Whitehall had Lucan on the rack for a bit in the opening half. They were 7 points up at one stage. Jamie Rafferty was at the end of a really good team goal. Johnny Bellew got back to get a great hook on Cormac Costello when he should have kicked for goal. That would have stretched it out to 10, however Lucan rallied a bit before half time and were only 4 down. With the wind in the 2nd half they clipped some excellent points. Ciaran Dowling and Ben Coffey with 10 from play between them. The two Walshes hurled well too. Whitehall got a late goal to give it a bit of a closer scoreline. They can be proud of their year. A few younger lads there kicked on well. Getting Gannon back to play for them would be a huge boost.
The second game was a repeat of last years county final and ended in another bad loss for Boden. It was a one point game at half time with Na Fianna ahead by a point after playing against the gale. Boden set up to stop Donal Burke and it worked, however the pay off was getting opened elsewhere. Tipp import David Gleeson had a very good opening half for Boden clipping 1-3, wing back Jack Lambert also hit three good points. It was close enough until about three quarter mark when Boden finally cracked under the Na Fianna onslaught. Na Fianna scored about 3-4 in a five minute spell, a Ciaran Stacey goal being the highlight. The final scoreline didnât flatter them. Boden are very poor and senior club championship is no country for a team relying on a lot of old men to keep them going. Simon Lambert, Niall McMorrow, Paul Ryan and Timmy Hammersley are all good hurlers but cannot be carried on a team together bringing such a pace deficit.
The semi final draw was made after.
Na Fianna vs St Vincents
Lucan vs Kilmacud Crokes
Iâll get to previewing those games some other day
Aj Murphy looks a tidy player . Is he in dubs panel ?
Tullamore eased their way to their 5th county final in 5 years. Edenderry only scored 0-4. Game was practically over when Tullamore got 2 early goals against the big wind. They play a very defensive brand of football which is frustrating to watch but is effective within the county. Ferbane beat Shamrocks comfortably in other semi final, having put Rhode out in the quarters.
Tullamore will be strong favourites in final. Iâm fairly sure theyâve yet to win a game in the Leinster club championship. The pressure will be on this year if they qualify, after two recent near misses and the management team due to stand down at the end of the campaign.
Kilcormac and Ballinamere will be favourites in the hurling semis next weekend to beat Coolderry and Banagher respectively
Has been in and out with different managers over last few years, somewhat unlucky with injuries. Was travelling last year I think and hasnât been back in since.
Ballinamere faced off with Doon on the BOICMC on Thursday of last week in absolutely torrential conditions.
I didnât hear the final score but Ballinamere played with a big wind in the first half and lead by 1-04 to a point at the interval. They could give Kilcormac enough of it yet.
Interesting. Loads of them were playing and winning a senior football relegation final at the weekend
Trillick but who could rule out another replay.
Incredible scenes at Healy Park as the game has had to be delayed due to the amount of people wanting to get in to see it. Significant interest from the Protestant section of the community too I hear.

You just canât beat win or go home sport.
Trillick lead Dungannon 0-5 to 0-4 in the Tyrone SFC Semi final. Trillick played with the elements in the first half and were 0-5 to 0-2 up but Dungannon got a few soft frees and Trillick have missed a few scorable shots.
Trillick look better and have definitely played more attractive football but hard to call from here.
Where can I watch this?
