Played under 20.
Probably covered above lads but why did Doon only have a week here, was there a delay in the Limerick championship?
And This goes Express to the TNH thread .
Limerick county board gambled that they’d ready an all Ireland and get the bye.
Limerick also play 8 round championships in both codes, they probably could have saved a weekend by playing one mid week game at the beginning.
That’s the fright the gunners needed. Hard to see them beaten from here with loughlins and Thomas’s gone
I think Loughmore will give them plenty of it in a few weeks. Loughmore feel they were done out of it there 3 years ago.
They were
I think if Thomastown went at them the way they went at OLG they’d be in a bit of bother.
The system that Gunners use whereby everything is to create space, short stick play, very football esque, is absolutely horrific to watch as a neutral. Fair play to them and of course they will play what gives them a chance to win, but I really hope someone else wins it out. It’s just very hard to watch
Clough Ballacolla will do a number on them
That game takes place in Croke park. Hard to implement that gameplan there
Did they create a goal chance at all today?
This is it. Not even half a chance
Doon played very well today and will have regrets about the missed goal chances, especially Jack Ryan’s and some wide’s especially from Adam English’s frees.
Doon hit their corner backs a lot and they were good on the ball, this is something that the gunners might not see again.
Their decision to start Cormac Ryan was correct as he’s a more commanding defender than Jack Ryan who was lively up front.
If and when Doon win another county championship I expect them to approach it with a total different mindset. It might be the extra push on they need although I’d be worried about the sustainability of Richie English who looks more and more patched up with each game.
I know there’s the excuse of rustiness but I wasn’t impressed with the usual trusty 3/6 axis of Coughlan/Mahoney.
Their other backs with the exception of Ian Kenny can be got at and are not as comfortable on the ball.
8-15 they still looked almost as good as ever without the goal threat today they’ll likely need v Loughmore who generally get a couple of green flags.
I’m happy with my 7/1 on the Tipp side based on what I’ve seen but gunners should come on from the run.
The appointment of Johnny Murphy as the official could tip both clubs over the edge.
Johnny was very harsh on Rory O’Connor last summer. As an aside, Rory O’Connor seems to be a very nice chap along with being an excellent hurler.

Ah lad give yourself a shake
What are the dimensions of Croke Park compared to Nowlan Park?
Someone needs to do up a list of GAA field dimensions.
Anyone?
