Club Championships 2025/26

The clocks go back to zero today.

This is an absolutely brilliant article full of little digs and innuendo and is what local journalism should be all about.

Laffan has a good CV but would be raw enough so fascinating to see how Kilcormac respond to him.

Kevin would want to have manners, he’s going to be seeing a whole lot of KK for the next decade. He might not get much hop out of them after this.

Galway champs laughably still have bye to All Ireland semi in hurling. With that in mind, a handy draw v Ulster champs, McManus and Ryan back to full fitness i am backing Loughrea to be 2026 All Ireland club hurling champions.

Its real throwback journalism to the days of the Clare People winding up Newmarket like kippers in the mid/late 2000’s.

Its some clusterfuck of copy and paste. Even the formatting is a hape of shite. That group of papers are gone to the dogs.

There is nothing soft about the Ulster Champions.

The last 4 times a Galway team has met the Ulster Champions, they’ve lost twice (2016, 2022) and only won AET on the other two occasions (2013, 2019)

Galway will be a bearpit too with Turlock/Clarinbridge/Thomas’s all in the mix.

The great Turlough O Brien linked with the coveted Portlaoise job.

Sars beat Slaughtneil and you saw how poor Sars were yesterday.

Sars beat Ballygunner too.

The Ballygunner performance was too good to be true and yesterday was probably too bad to be true.

Every game takes on a life of its own but the Ulster teams have shown outside their province to be very worthy of their place at the top table for the last decade or more.

He got them and they got him.

It doesn’t work like that everywhere, but he has a lot of talent to work with.

I think myself after the 17 pts margin last year Ballygunner took their eye off the ball in the Munster final, Sars deserved it on the day no doubt. Kilmacud were the real sliding doors team this year, they threw away the Dublin final.

I agree. That Munster Final was inexplicable really but fair play to them, they won it fair and square.

I see Kilmacud have already been installed as 8/11 favs for Dublin next year in spite of how good Na Fianna have looked. I think they could win a couple of All Ireland Clubs in the next 5 or 6 years. Not gone on their managerial appointment for 2025 but the talent is there and yesterday is sure to light a fire under them as a club. It’ll have killed them to see Na Fianna/Cuala win those games so convincingly.

Whos in charge of crokes ?

Paddy Lenihan is his name. Supposed to be good man but has a son involved who’s a borderline starter which always concerns me. Would need a good coach with him. Hoban/Meagher who won it with Ballyhale were interviewed but it fell through. Perhaps Jarlath intervened given Meagher’s past.

David Nestor has taken the reigns from Baggio Brennan in the Football.

Surely the Leinster club finals need to be taken out of Croke Park. Totally unfair advantage for Dublin teams in particular in All Ireland finals.

Rubbish. Its absolutely no advantage to Dublin teams using Croke Park all the time. Where would you come up with this nonsense.
