Club Championships 2026/2027

I hear Ballygunnar are having a team meeting and gym session this morning with a view to going back to back.

It all starts here.

The clocks go back to zero today.

Certainly be useful to start cataloging the management teams of the big dogs as we get word of them.

It will be hard to match the romance of Dingle’s story but I’ll give it a go anyway.

My Predictions

All Ireland club hurling final 2026/2027- Doon v Kilmacud Crokes (A battle of cultures).

All Ireland club football final 2026/2027 - Scotstown v St Finbarrs.

Proper order

Offaly GAA has put a stop to teams having joint-captains.

It follows an addition to Rule 9.2 of the county committee’s regulations which was approved by delegates at the January county board meeting. From here on, clubs must submit the name of their captain to the county secretary before the commencement of the championship. Clubs that don’t comply face a fine of €200. The only exception is where underage teams are made up of players from two or more clubs.

Many clubs, including three-in-a-row Dowling Cup winners Tullamore, have had co-captains in recent years, but this is no longer permitted, meaning only one player will be allowed to accept cups in official presentations after finals.

“It’s something that has crept in because club managers aren’t prepared to pick one (a captain),” Offaly GAA assistant secretary Pat Teehan said.

“The captain is the captain. It doesn’t happen in other sports. We should abide by the code that’s there.”

The Cannon Gannon going into Naas to replace Philip

He’s the new Athy manager I thought? Replacing that joint-management team who stepped down after the Leinster Final. He must be finishing up playing senior with Eire Óg.

Fucking hell, I got that all wrong. Athy it is.

Joint Captains is a non issue in my opinion.

Proper order.

It’s a more serious issue than the split season and FRC combined

They’ve so many snipers, they’ll need the joint captains. This could be the thing that derails the tsunami.

No harm in it whatsoever. 2 xbfamilies get to see their loved ones lift the cup rather than one. It drives the gaa commitay lads and company men absolutely mental too which is an added bonus.

Joint captains sure sign of an indecisive management

Make all 30 of them captain

You’re all special

Don’t be worrying your pretty head about it. Laois never win anything so it won’t an issue for you.

A good ‘two man lift of a cup’ when both lads are in sync can be very aesthetically pleasing in my opinion.
