Generating sales for lesser players to try fund his spending… Unbelievable.
He’s also created in excess of €400 from player sales. He’s like a more prudent version of Davy Fitz. Liverpool are making money thanks to him. Imagine if they could have afforded his first choice signings like Werner, Chilwell and Sancho.
Some of the lads here just don’t understand the net spend dynamics. Then again, some of them follow clubs that don’t need to sell to spend, and don’t give a hoot about financial fair play
Imagine having to gamble on 3 points because you have to get lesser players into the shop window to generate funds… Pep would have walked 4 years ago.
Instead Pep uses a travelator to get around City’s facilities. The man has to walk nowhere.
Pep hasn’t won the Champions League with Man City or Bayern either. The knowledgeable men on the continent would be laughing at that failure.
Might be before your time on here but there used to be a poster who reckoned Klopp should be sacked and that Brendan Rodgers was a better manager than him. He had an awful set against him even though there were clear signs of progress under Klopp.
In fairness to Brendan Rodgers he’s a decent manager. But his record in Europe is very poor. Jürgen Klopp has been to 3 European finals in 4 attempts with Liverpool.
Brendan has never won a competitive trophy as a manager.
Would the promotion play off with Swansea count as a trophy ?
They’ve only won one title in 31 years. And when they finally do they almost get relegated the following season as they didnt have enough money to buy players and they played the ones they had so much they all got injured. Do they know its a professional sport, why don’t they try and make more money? They’re a massively famous club.
There’s no reason Liverpool shouldn’t have as much money as man united. They are every bit as big a club. United are just better than them at making money. They need to get better at it or they’re going to be left behind again.
Was wondering that, do they award a trophy for that? Thought it might have been a big cheque like in Who Wants to be a Millionaire.
Klopp had to play Kevin Stewart, released from the Spurs academy, in the first team for a year to raise his value enough to afford a left back from relegated Hull City to join Trent and Neco as full back options. Pep has spent over £200m on full backs. Unreal!
Liverpool are a small club mate… They don’t have the global reach of Man Utd or Real Madrid. It’s a small club in a small city punching way above its weight.
Why are they smaller than man united? Up until 1992 they had 18 leagues to Uniteds 7. This stuff really baffles me. They are allowed make money and in fact try their best to do it. They just seem to be shite at it. Their supporters seem to see it as a positive though.
Net spend is the last refuge of a scoundrel. A club can choose to do what they like with transfer proceeds. In this case they gave Herr Klopp half a billion pounds to spend and acquire one record signing after another. One league title delivered in 5/6 years surely has to be viewed as a failure.
Man United developed their stadium in the mid 90s and set up a commercial arm unrivalled in world football. It’s not possible to develop Anfield into a 75k capacity stadium and the owners up until FSG were clueless commercially. The club shop was closed the day after the Istanbul CL final so you couldn’t buy merchandise.
1992… What happened soccer then? Are you a bit simple? … Liverpool were nearly ruined by 2 cowboys only a few years ago. It’s a miracle the club is still standing not to mind winning CLs and EPLs.
Your posts are really baffling me.
