Well done to the English rugby team on their win today and for inflicting yet another crushing defeat on the golden generation.I stopped supporting those pricks after the way they treated Eddie O’Sullivan!
That’s plain stupid lad. Don’t feel you have to join in with these piss drinkers to be accepted youghaly. Do your own thing.
For better and for worse i’ve always done my own thing on the INTERNET gissy!
Eddie O’Sullivan was rightly relieved of his position after a truly awful 2007/08 campaign which saw Ireland fail to emerge from their pool in the World Cup and finish fourth in the Six Nations.
That and the fact that he was a whiney, boring, self serving person who stabbed Gatland right in the back and slowly dismantled his potentially great side.
Garland was far from the finished article when he coached Irl with marginally above mediocre results. In addition, his time at a Wasps and Wales would suggest that his coaching philosophy requires huge physical players to implement. The Irish players of the 00’s would not be suitable for that style.
Gatland was and is a gent. I was coached by him,or at least the team I was on was coached by him for a spell. He did an outstanding job with Connacht, built up an Irish team which was a great side, and just as he was getting it established, he was blackguarded out of his job. He was deeply hurt by this, and, until recently at least, still had a home in barna, showing his love for Ireland and the Irish, or Galway at least. His palmares show success everywhere he has coached. He may need to evolve, but gatlandball as it is known, was developed mainly for the welsh, in particular there unnaturally huge back line, and was highly successful, being denied, in my opinion, the ultimate success by the most scandalous refereeing decision at the last World Cup. He never played or preached that kind of rugby when he didn’t have those players at his disposal. Given the hysteria around the Thierry Henry incident, if Rolland had sent off the Irish captain under similar circumstances, it would have been whined about for three generations. As a nation , we are the most narcissistic on the planet.
He was definitely politiked out by O’Sullivan but it would appear he was a bit naive at the time too. Wasps played a power game and Gatlands level of innovation with Ireland was the 13 man lineout in Lens with most of the back line set moves coming from Eddie. It was early days in his career though.
Rolland’s decision was correct so comparison with Thierry Henry is tenuous.
Was it fuck. It was outrageous. Read the rules.
A pedant and a weaselly little man Rolland. Thank fcuk he won’t ruin any more matches. Our very own Wayne Barnes.
