The cans sold to pubs don’t have the logo.
The cider cans there definitely don’t have them anyway.

A lot of the Polish* staff that work for the HSE collect them from the bins and bring them home.
*could be any nationality I suppose.
You sure? I was talking to a pub owner over the weekend and he was telling me he gives them to someone else cos he wouldnt be caught dead trying to return them himself.
Went to bring a pile of bottles for return yesterday. Got there and the machine was full. Another lad came in behind me and started off on a big rant and stormed back off with his bottles. Probably to post on TFK or Facebook abusing Eamonn Ryan.
I just went into the shop and asked could someone look at the machine and 2 minutes later they had someone out to empty it and i deposited my bottles.
My kids have a jar for their receipts from returning them every week…have 120 odd euro worth of receipts collected for the holidays …they would be shameless enough now if we were at anyone’s house in volunteering to take away their bottles
Thats a good idea
Customers warned bin charges to rise as bottle return scheme hits waste firm profits
You couldn’t make it up
You can only use the receipts at the shop you return the cans to?
Shops give cash for the vouchers too.
True.
At Charleville show yesterday an enterprising young fella could have made hundreds of euros, they’d have had a lot of curry on their hands but
So more trucks on the road.
Less service.
More charges.
They give cash back as well
Good thinking
Liveline had a piece on this last week. Some lad said he was collecting the vouchers and going to save them up and pay for his Christmas. Which was fine in theory until someone in retail sent a message that the receipts will fade over the few months and be worthless so better to use them up now and get the cash.

Course they did
Local juvenile GAA club are doing the same sort of thing as a means of getting funds. Asking parents to bring bottles for return to training etc.
