The rubby set came piling in sneering at the soccer set and the qualification process — when we asked was their parity with the rubby qualification process we got half answers and avoidance until we were told that rubby has the same process as snooker, badminton and bowls
Russia are ranked 23rd in the world in rugby yet got tonked by Connaughts second team and Jersey who are second division side in England as part of their build up.
The smugby crowd have been sneering at Georgia being ranked in the 90s in football but I guarantee you they wouldn’t be out of their depth against a solid Europa League standard club side let alone their second string.

It appears rankings are only important when the rubby set decide they are … that’s the inverted snobbery that comes with rubby that turns a lot of people away from the game for 3 of every 4 years.

Ireland gearing up for a World Cup quarter final on Saturday against the best team in the world and back to back reigning champions and all the soccer crew want to talk about is the qualification process.
I suppose when you’re 11 games into a qualification process with the Eire team and your biggest win out of 3 is over the world ranked 91 team from a rugby country it’s understandable.
