Very cynical stuff from the huns here.
Fred with an equaliser.
South America could do with some decent groundsmen.
Who is that doing the vice-commentary on ESPN? He’s been annoying me all day and that game from Elano dropping deep and playing a pass when he wanted him to get it forward and worry about playing from there.
Andre Santos is a joke of a footballer.
I can confirm it was the hun-linked winger that provided the assist for the first goal.
Yeah…wrong thread.
FARC have beaten Bolivia tonight, 2-0, securing top spot in the group, a brace from Falcao makes him top scorer in the tournament on two goals.
Argentina are kicking off soon. The natives will go apeshit if they don’t progress from the group.
Gago, Di Maria, Higuain and Aguero all start.
3-0 win for Argentina last night. Played much better by all accounts, though it’s only a youth Costa Rica side. Aguero got two with Di Maria getting the third. Front three combined much better apparently with Messi looking much sharper.
Hey Rocko, give me a % chance of Brazil topping their group.
They are 1/4 to win tonight.
But they are 11/10 to top the group. Find that weird…
So for Brazil to win they need to win (1/4 so 80% chance) and the match between Venezuala and Paraguay to be a draw (unless it’s a high-scoring draw and Brazil win by one so say maybe a 20% chance of that) or for Paraguay to win by less than Brazil beat Ecuador (say a 35% chance).
So it’s 80% by (.20+.35) which is a 44% chance.
Don’t know the odds for the Venezuala-Ecuador outcomes but there are enough scenarios there to make it less than 50/50 for Brazil to win the group.
Dani Alves dropped tonight with Maicon coming in.
Not a bad replacement to have. I prefer Dani Alves as a player but he was miserable the last day.
Some good new for TFK syndicate as Pato finally netted his first goals of the tournament.
Brazil won 4-2 last night. Watched the first half, Maicon gave Brazil an extra dimension down the right side.
Quarter finals kick off tonight with FARC and Peru playing at 8pm, with the big one between Argentina and Uruguay at 11.15.
Looking forward to it.
Despite Argentina’s poor form to date I expect the home side and FARC to progress.
Colombia lineup: Martinez; Yepes, Perea, Armero, Zuiñiga; Aguilar, D. Moreno, Guarin, C. Moreno, Ramos, Falcao
Peru lineup: Libman; Acasiete, Revoredo, Ramos, Vilchez, Balbin, Guevara, Gonzalez, Corzo, Chiroque, Rudiaz
A yellow card for a Peruvian after 30 seconds. Lovely play by Falco creates a good chance for Aguilar.
0-0 at HT.
FARC looking the more dangerous. A cagey affair however.
Cagey is generous from the last 10-15 minutes I saw.
Have backed Colombia here at 6/4. Don’t see them conceding - they haven’t conceded so far in the tournament - and while they may not score at all you’d have to fancy them to get one if they remain on top.
