Copa America 2019

Quarter is being very kind

It’s a good thing Qatar are the other team in Argentina’s group or they’d be going home fairly shortly.

Messi was shocking again by all accounts.

Paraguay are a good side and Messi scored the equalizer.
There’s only so much he can do.

He scored a penalty given for a handball on VAR.

The so much Messi can do for Argentina is very little.

How can someone who is meant to be that good be so poor for his country, routinely?

Because they are not that good?

How well did NI do when George Best was playing?

Also, I think you underestimate how competitive South America is, there are no poor teams there anymore.

Not good?

Messi is playing with top players playing for big clubs all across Europe.

Di Maria and Ageuro were dropped last night, the usual blood sacrifice for Messi when he shits his togs, Dybala has spent the opening 2 games rotting on the bench and all this while Messi consistently fails to live up to his billing.

The usual suspects are queuing up to blame everyone else but Messi, his teammates, his coach? But why not the man himself, the man who cannot lead, the man who looks a shadow of the player he is at Barcelona when his teammates are unable carry his water. Surely greatness is being able to carry a side and the national team Messi can’t carry has some of the greatest talent in the world.

Contrast Messi with someone like James Rodriguez. He excels for Colombia and he is surrounded by inferior players.

James was rejected by Real Madrid and has now been rejected by Bayern.

So what?

He excels for his national side. This is a thread about an international tournament and once again Messi is stinking one out.

I’m not defending Messi, but your obsession with him is odd. There are loads of great players who didn’t win anything with their countries. I think you overrate some of his teammates, Di Maria for example can’t be relied on and they are poor enough at the back.

You sure as hell sound like it because there’s no defence of Messi’s failure with Argentina yet you’re trying to proffer one up.

It’s not about great players not winning anything with their country, it’s about a guy who is proclaimed to be the greatest of all time being absolutely pants for his country on the biggest stage of world football, over and over again while his fanboys collectively try to deny its obvious existence and then try and flip the blame to anyone and everyone else.

If you’re that good you deliver.

You seem very agitated about him. He is not the greatest of all time imo. I would have Pele, Maradona, Cruyff, Ronaldo the great, and George Best above him, and maybe a few others.

Agitated.

Why would I get agitated about being vindicated over and over again? I’m anti bullshit and that is what the Messi fanboys engage in.

You didn’t even see the match mate.

Thats an evisceration

Di maria one of the greatest talents in the world?

He’s had a great career and performed better for Argentina in the major tournaments.

Failed in England

Its s shame Di Maria went to the jokeshop that was united. He didn’t stand a chance.

The fact that he took the money by going to United and then going to the joke Ligue 1 blots his copy book significantly. He is a dubious character.

When you’re drowning, you’ll take any lifeboat.
