Copa Libertadores

Don’t let the scummy soccer crowd drag you down to their level. Getting back to last night, that was shocking carry on at that soccer match in Buenos Aires. Can you ever recall anything comparable to that before a big rugby match?

Haven’t watched the clip. Any team buses attacked, players injured by glass or tear gas, match postponed?

People care about who wins soccer matches which is the major difference mate

Everyone bar the players .

Those River Plate ‘fans’ seem like a real caring lot alright.

Working class? It costs something like 18k to board at Blackrock now and would have been at an equivalent PP rate back then.

Laide was there on a rugby scholarship.

A scion of a family that owns a pub and an undertaking business in County Monaghan is working class according to the resident Monaghan native. Must be some money swirling around in Monaghan.

Says?

It was reported at the time, I’m not going to bother digging it up.

In Blackrock characters like him are forgiven so long as the play rugby so it makes sense.

Because it isn’t actually true?

Borders have been going to Blackrock since the start. They are apart of the culture there, in many ways they are bigger “Rock boys” than the day pupils given how much time they spend in the place.

Let’s just accept that you don’t have a scooby doo what you’re on about.
