Coppa Italia thread

Ah lovely I back Milan blind before seeing the teams and was a bit worried. Forza Rossoneri.

Need Valencia to beat Levante to top off a great week of punting

Valencia 2 to the good. This has been an excellent week

Zlatan makes it 3-1 Milan

A brace from debutant* Martin Caceres has given Juventus a 2-1 victory at the San Siro over Milan in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final. El Sharaawy was on target for Milan.

*This is Caceres second spell at the club.

Siena beat Napoli 2-1 at home tonight to continue Napoli’s dismal run of form. You’d still expect Napoli to qualify with their vociferous support behind them at the San Paolo in the second leg.

Juventus: Storari; Lichtsteiner, Bonucci, Chiellini, De Ceglie; Giaccherini, Pirlo, Vidal; Pepe, Del Piero, Vucinic

Juventus bench: Manninger, Caceres, Estigarribia, Marchisio, Padoin, Quagliarella, Borriello

Milan: Amelia; Antonini, Mexes, Thiago Silva, Mesbah; Aquilani, Seedorf, Muntari; Emanuelson; Ibrahimovic, El Shaarawy

Milan bench: Abbiati, Yepes, Bonera, Nocerino, Gattuso, Maxi Lopez, Inzag

Live on ESPN tonight. Zlatan to inflict Conte’s first defeat at Juventus.

Zlatan is playing with a cold tonight.

El Sharaawy really has all the attributes to be a top class player.

Milan are getting a lot of joy down the right side with Antonini so far, Giaccherini has neglected his defensive duties and De Ceglie is playing too narrow.

Muntari gets booked for a very Muntari-esque erratic challenge.

Brilliant effort from Zlatan forces Storari into a smart save.

Vucinic has to be the biggest flop of the season. Del Piero has just given Juve the lead.

Surely a foul in the build up by Del Piero there.

Who was the defender lying down in the middle of the box? Tough ask for Milan now. Game being played at a serious tempo.

Weak defending from Mesbah down the left lets Lichsteiner charge past him, he pulls it back across the goal and there is Del Piero who shows great composure in nicking it around Amelia and tapping home.

They had to score two anyway so it makes no difference.

The lad I reckon Del Piero fouled.

You’d expect Mexes to have been stronger there as well, Del Piero definitely seems to impede him but he had also stolen a march on him. Mexes was very flat footed.

Nice one Alberto.

Vucinic is seething after Aquilani scythed him down when the ball and himself were already out of play.
