Oh I wouldn’t be seething about @thelimericks at all… Ye makes me laugh ye do
Through your tears
I might head down to the Little All Ireland myself, I feel it’s important to make the effort and contribute to it being a sell out.
They’ve some great Gaels down there doing trojan work to keep the game alive.
The Cork final will have a bigger crowd than the Tipp and Limerick finals combined. Limerick finals always had 4 to 5 thousand but Tipperary crowds have fallen off a cliff.
Crowds are way down in Tipp this year alright for a combination of reasons.
I’d say there was hardly a thousand people in Thurles for the game on TV last Saturday.
Ah ya fixing a game for 4pm on a September Saturday was mental enough stuff but was obviously to suit the TV Cameras.
In Tipperary there would be a huge crossover between hurling followers and Dairy Farmers so unless you have a very reliable relief milker you wouldn’t have been able to attend that double header last week. There was probably triple the crowd there on Sunday for the traditional early afternoon slot.
Last year with the knockout stages in late October/November there were huge crowds attending games but thanks to the split season zealots, there hasnt been the same level of buy in from the public at all this year.

If they played games in Nenagh not Thurles they might get bigger crowds.
Nenagh is too far north for a lot of people.
The hurling heartlands of Holycross and The Ragg are the two best Club venues in the county.
Premier minor double for Douglas. Some going. Is it just sheer numbers that’s driving that or would it just be a particularly lucky crop? I wouldn’t be well versed in underage successes in Cork
I’d say the latter, other clubs would have a larger pick, they win both those finals by huge scores.
The last time Rockies and Barrs met in a county final, sone big names on display
Big problem with games in Tipp is there are so many on at the one time with the format meaning there was 20+ knockout games last weekend.
It disperses the crowd as nearly every club is involved.
Having quarter finals in the stadium ruins atmosphere too.
Would they do a magic weekend type thing like they do in Rugby League, play 4 or 5 games back-to- back in Thurles from early or would the pitch not hold up? People probably wouldn’t like it I spose
Great coaching. That group were very ordinary at u14.

Isn’t that when you want them to play the all Ireland finals?
An All Ireland on a Saturday?

I wonder are Douglas the 1st side to win the Premier minor without one single member on a county minor hurling panel? Some exceptional players involved.
Ahh that wouldn’t work. I know I left straight away after my own club lost last weekend despite there being a game on after! Couldn’t stomach going the day after either after our loss!
The big crowds at club games was generally during the knockout era where there was only a few matches each weekend.
