Ok I was being a smartass but FFS bar Pa Horgan we were fucking dire-meyler and co have to go- and will unless we put up some fight against Limerick
Cork u21 last year & NTS play TOM in attack .
O Mahoney played little or no hurling at 6 underage. When the decision was made to place him there for championship, it was always going to be a steep learning curve. They should have accepted that mistakes were going to be made but stuck by him if he was our centre back for forseeable future.
He was not helped by fact that those around him played below par. I dismay at decision to drop him.
Would you risk the season to allow him to bed in there?
Id say reason he is dropped is that he didnt carry out the instructions he was given. As I said he could well be back there for next round and he might be the answer long term. But we saw nothing last week that suggested hed be able for Hayes
I would not judge any young lad too harshly based upon last day. Very few establish players would cope with movement and application of tipp forwards the last day.
OâMahoney is a tidy hurler. Mobile and s decent enough stick man. I canât see him as a standout centre back as he seems to lack the natural defensive instincts for it but could definitely make a solid wing back or wing forward.
Have no idea what you are basing this on. He is originally a forward moved to the half-backs because he is good in the air. And after the last day any forward not named Horgan can be dropped.
Tom is the best ball winning forward in cork by a country mile in my opinion.
Byrnes and Morrissey would love going toe-to-toe with OâMahony rather than Kearney or Meade. Any time he came on in the forwards last year, he was poor.
You obviously dont watch cork hurling.
Weâre not talking about last year.
Agree, thought Kingston was okay last weekend. Played on too long carrying a knock though.
You obviously donât either
I watch a lot of it mate. Most of the limerick posters on here are like munster rugby fans, event junkies.
Minors two down with 20 to go, sounds like they have been very poor.
5 down now.
2 down, 5 to go.
1 - 15 to 0 - 18.
(FT) Munster MHC
Limerick 0-19 (19) Cork 1-16 (19)
Good comeback from being 5 down.
Seems like a good draw, sounds like they were asleep for most of the game. Going by the radio Twomey, Flynn and OâSullivan were good.
