Cork’s All Ireland Senior Hurling Championship* 2025

Galway have a good historical record in Limerick.

I recall them winning championship matches there in 2005, 2011, 2020 and 2023. Won League finals there in 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2017. A lot of those games were against Tipperary. They did lose the 1994 League final to Tipperary at that venue but I can’t recall another defeat. I would imagine Galway would object to having to go to Cork which would be a clearly advantageous venue for Tipperary.

Tipp struggle in Limerick generally bar v Clare who they have a good record against.

The Cork County board are making strong representations to have it in Cork. They argue that Limerick having hosted the Munster final and had a full house at the Cork round robin have made enough out of it this year and They beneed tevenue to pay off Pairc de Frank.

I’d be happy enough for Pairc Ui Chaoimh to host a Tyrone v Dublin All-Ireland football quarter-final.

Cork is miles out of the way. Toss for it to fuck

No way. Nobody, including Galway, wants to see a game of importance in Salthill

Neither county is good to travel, or indeed attend matches at home, so I think a home and away might salvage some bit of atmosphere

Fear dripping off this post

Going to be a Tipp Kilkenny final. Limerick and Cork panels will watch it together in Charleville, John and Pat arm in arm singing Piano Man. The only danger to this scenario is if Laois shock Tipp

I’m looking forward to seeing where tipp are up to. It’s a massive banana skin this for cork.

Salthill would be a fair venue. Equally loathed by both sets of teams and supporters.

Ennis is the place for Tipperary v Galway. Be a better atmosphere and people will be bursting with tension as there’s nowhere to go for a piss.

Lost the 2008 league final also.

It really isn’t, it’s pretty much a gimme to get to an All-Ireland.

Tipp are good I think. Take the eye off the ball and they’ll get a run on you which will be hard turned.

Cork have beaten Tipp by 30 points combined in their last two meetings . This isn’t like last Saturday where that gap was unrealistic from previous meeting. Tipp will keep it under 10 in an aisf but won’t get near winning

I think tipp are substantially better now.

Is there any evidence that Tipp are substantially better or at all better than they were in 2023 when they had some good results but were in reality way off it?

They didn’t beat the All Ireland Champions in 2023 and were hammered by Waterford the same year.

Year or two too soon for Tipp for me. Id say they’d be happy with seeing Croke Park again and getting a feel for the place
